Huawei P20 Lite with triple rear cameras, Android Oreo gets FCC approval

Huawei is expect to unveil its flagship P20 series of flagship smartphones on March 27 at an event in Paris. As per existing reports, the series will include the Huawei P20, P20 Plus and P20 Lite. All three smartphones have lately been appearing in leaks. Just a couple of days ago, we came across an alleged render of the P20 model featuring three cameras at the back.

Now, another member of the upcoming Huawei P20 family has been spotted online. Carrying the model number ANE-LX1, the P20 Lite has received the FCC certification. The FCC approval indicates that the smartphone is ready to launch. Besides this, the FCC listing reveals that the P20 Lite will be measuring 148×70mm. The handset also appears to sport a large 6-inch display with an iPhone X-like notch at the top.

As shown in the FCC documents, the P20 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system right out of the box. The smartphone is listed with a 2,900mAh battery 18W fast charging support. Other features that have been unearthed via FCC listing include microSD card, dual-SIM and Wi-Fi 802.11n.

Looking at the images submitted to the FCC, the P20 Lite will come with a vertically stacked triple rear camera setup certified by Leica. Well, this is pretty much everything we have come to know about the smartphone today.

Popular tipster Roland Quandt recently took to Twitter to reveal the codenames and the color options of the upcoming Huawei P20 lineup of smartphones. According to him, the P20 Lite is codenamed as "Anne", and it will be offered in three colors which will include Midnight Black, Klein Blue, and Sakura Pink.

Rumors have it, the next generation Huawei P series smartphones will feature a massive 40MP Leica triple-lens camera setup with 5x hybrid zoom. The smartphones are also said to be equipped with a 24MP selfie camera at the front. Under the hood, the P20, P20 Plus and the P20 Lite are likely to feature the AI-enabled Kirin 970 processor.

As yet, there is no information on the smartphones' pricing. In any case, they will not come easy on your pocket. However, it remains to be seen whether or not people will be willing to invest on smartphones that can take DSLR-level pictures.
