Huawei Pura X Max Foldable Launched With Wide Display and Kirin 9030 Pro: Check Price and Features

Huawei has launched the Pura X Max, and it’s taking a noticeably different approach compared to most foldables in the market right now. Instead of going for a tall, narrow design, the company is pushing a wider, more tablet-like form factor.

A Different Take On Foldables

The Pura X Max uses a √2:1 aspect ratio on both the outer and inner displays, aiming to keep the experience consistent whether the phone is folded or unfolded. The outer screen measures 5.4 inches and supports up to 3500 nits of peak brightness, along with a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate.

When unfolded, you get a 7.7-inch inner display with similar adaptive refresh capabilities, though brightness tops out slightly lower at 3000 nits. The idea here seems to be making the device feel more like a compact tablet when opened, rather than just a stretched phone.

Design, Hinge, And Build

Huawei is calling the design “geometric,” with a ceramic bezel around the camera module. The phone is available in colors like Midnight Black, Zero White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.

There’s also a new basalt waterdrop hinge in play. Huawei says this improves durability and increases usable screen space, along with better drop resistance compared to previous designs.

Cameras And Hardware

The Pura X Max comes with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, a second-generation color sensor, and a 12.5MP ultra-wide camera. Huawei is branding this setup under its XMAGE system, with features like portrait enhancements and 3D dynamic photos.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chip and runs HarmonyOS 6.1. AI is a big part of the experience, with features like Xiaoyi assistant, AI note-taking, photo editing tools, and what Huawei calls a companion AI system that integrates with multiple apps.
