Huawei's sub brand Honor is all set to launch a new device in India on January 28, for which it rolled out teaser invites to Indian media. The company has not given out details of the device lined up for launch at this event, however GizBot has gathered that Honor will finally be introducing its much-awaited Honor 5X smartphone in India.
Honor 5X is the company's mid-range smartphone offering that was unveiled in 2015. Its highlight is its metal design that resembles the design of Huawei's current global flagship, the Honor 7 smartphone. The phone comes in a diamond-polished aluminum alloy casing to have a premium look and feel. While it design has premium elements, Honor has made changes in the hardware features of the phone to make it more affordable for consumers.
As far as its specs are concerned, the Honor 5X is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It features a 5.5 inch full HD display with 1920x1080 pixel resolution and runs on Android's 5.1 Lollipop iteration topped with Huawei's EMUI 3.1 software.
In the camera department, the Honor 5X sports a 13MP rear shooter with Huawei's SmartImage 3.0 processor for better photography in dim light conditions. Up front there is a 5MP camera with 22mm wide-angle lens, 88-degree viewing angle and f/2.4 aperture. Other features in the phone include a fingerprint reader and a 3,000mAh battery.
Honor is yet to officially announce the name of the upcoming device, but we are sure about the launch of the 5X smartphone in India on the said date. Also, considering that the company is debuting in the US with the Honor 5X smartphone on January 31, the launch of the device on January 28 in India makes much sense.
