Huawei To Launch Tri-Fold Smartphone And HarmonyOS Products On September 10
Huawei is set to host a launch event in China on September 10. Although the company has not confirmed the products to be unveiled, it is widely expected that Huawei will introduce its much-anticipated tri-fold smartphone. This event could also see the debut of new HarmonyOS smart driving products.
Huawei Tri-Fold Phone To Launch on September 10
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Division, on Weibo, announced that a new product launch event will take place on September 10 at 2:30pm (12:00pm IST). The event poster also gives a hint at Huawei's tri-fold phone.

Huawei's new smartphone will have a unique folding mechanism. This design allows the large inner screen to fold three times, providing users with a versatile display experience. The tri-fold smartphone is rumoured to feature a tablet-like design with a 10-inch inner screen.
It will likely include two inward screens and one outward screen connected via a dual-hinge system. The device is expected to run on the Kirin 9 series chipset and to feature a circular camera module.
In addition to the smartphone, Huawei is expected to reveal new HarmonyOS smart driving products such as the Luxeed R7 and a new smart car model. These products are expected to enhance Huawei's presence in the automotive technology sector, offering advanced features and seamless integration with other HarmonyOS devices.
This launch event places Huawei in direct competition with Apple, which is scheduled to unveil the iPhone 16 series on September 9. Apple is also reportedly working on a clamshell-style foldable device, although it is not expected to be released until early 2026. This indicates that while Apple is exploring foldable technology, Huawei may have an advantage by being the first to market with a triple-fold smartphone.
