HyperOS 3 Based on Android 16 is Rolling Out for These Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco Devices First
Xiaomi has officially started rolling out HyperOS 3, its next-generation operating system built on Android 16, for global users. The update will be available between October and November for eligible Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones and tablets outside China.
HyperOS 3 focuses on improved system performance, a redesigned interface, AI-powered features, and better device connectivity across Xiaomi's growing ecosystem.

List of Eligible Devices for HyperOS 3
The first wave of eligible smartphones includes the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15T series, and the newly launched Xiaomi MIX Flip. Mid-range devices such as the Redmi Note 14 lineup and POCO's F7 and X7 series, including the POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition, are also scheduled to receive the update. The rollout extends to tablets as well, including the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, Pad 7, and Pad Mini.
HyperOS 3 Performance Gains
Xiaomi claims HyperOS 3 brings a noticeable boost in system efficiency. The company says CPU load has been reduced by 4%, energy efficiency is up by 10%, and frame loss rate has dropped by 18.9%, resulting in smoother navigation and enhanced responsiveness.
App launch speed is reportedly 21% faster, while video playback performance sees a 10% improvement. A new hot-swappable scheduling mechanism enhances multitasking, while a graphics scheduling upgrade improves overall gaming stability.
HyperOS 3 Interface
On the visual side, HyperOS 3 introduces Xiaomi Super Island, an interactive notification hub similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, now supporting over 70 live activity services such as ride tracking, delivery updates, and timers.

Users can also explore AI-driven dynamic wallpapers, redesigned icons, and new layout options with flexible desktop grids. Xiaomi has also introduced cinematic lock screens, allowing users to adjust fonts, wallpapers, and visual effects from a unified interface. The Photo Album app now includes smart search and AI-generated Pet Albums.
HyperOS 3 AI Features
Artificial intelligence takes center stage in HyperOS 3. The upgraded Super XiaoAi Assistant can now understand on-screen content and provide contextual suggestions. Xiaomi has also added a Circle-to-Search-style tool that lets users circle any on-screen element to search, translate, copy, or share instantly, similar to Google's AI companion features.
With HyperOS 3, Xiaomi continues pushing deeper integration of AI and system optimization, positioning itself strongly against Samsung's One UI and Google's Pixel UI. The phased global rollout is already underway, and more devices are expected to join the update list in upcoming waves.
