HyperOS 4 Based on Android 17 Rolling Out Globally Starting with the Xiaomi 17 Series: Get All the Details Her
A month after Xiaomi unveiled the HyperOS 4 beta program in China, the company has finally started expanding the testing program to global markets. The HyperOS 4 global beta rollout is now live for select smartphones, with more devices set to join the program later this month.
Xiaomi plans to bring the HyperOS 4 global beta to a total of seven smartphones in two phases. The first round of beta recruitment has already begun, while the second batch will become eligible starting September 17.

HyperOS 4 Global Beta: First Round of Eligible Devices
Beta recruitment is currently live for the following smartphones:
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra
- Xiaomi 17
- Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi
HyperOS 4 Beta: Second Round Starts September 17
Xiaomi will open beta recruitment for four more devices on September 17:
- Xiaomi 17T Pro
- Xiaomi 17T
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- Xiaomi 15
The HyperOS 4 beta program is currently limited to Global and EEA variants of eligible devices. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed when the beta recruitment will expand to additional regions, although more markets could be added in the coming weeks.
How to Apply for HyperOS 4 Global Beta?
Users with an eligible Xiaomi smartphone can apply for the beta program through the Xiaomi Community app. Simply follow these steps:
Xiaomi Community > ME > Beta Testing > Recruiting Test
Users will need to fill in the required details and submit their application. If selected, Xiaomi will deliver the HyperOS 4 beta update through an OTA update.
However, users should keep in mind that the number of available testing slots may be limited. Those interested in trying HyperOS 4 before its stable release should submit their applications as early as possible.
Should You Install HyperOS 4 Beta?
As with any beta software, the HyperOS 4 beta may include bugs, performance issues and other errors. Users are strongly advised to back up important files and data before installing the update.
Rolling back may also be complicated. Users who wish to return to HyperOS 3 after installing the beta may need to manually flash their device rather than simply installing an OTA downgrade.
With the global beta program now underway, Xiaomi users finally have their first opportunity to experience HyperOS 4 ahead of its wider stable rollout.
