IFA 2017: Alcatel launches Idol 5S, Idol 5, A7 XL, A7
The Alcatel Idol 5S is the most significant one among the four phones.
Looks like Alcatel is on a phone-launch spree. It launched a couple of smartphones a few days back.
Now, the company has unveiled four new smartphones at the ongoing IFA 2017 in Berlin. Namely, the smartphones are Alcatel Idol 5S, Idol 5, A7 XL and A7. All of them fall into the budget to the premium budget range. The Alcatel Idol 5S is the most significant one among the four phones. Both in terms of specs and design. Alcatel Idol 5S
The Alcatel Idol 5S and the US based Idol 5S are not the same models. While there are some similarities, they have some key differences as well.
The newly launched Idol 5S is powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 processor and it sports a different design to the US version featuring a Snapdragon 625 SoC.
Besides this, the smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with the resolution of 1080p. As for optics, the Idol 5S uses a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP selfie shooter.
Other goodies in the package include 3GB of RAM and a 2,850mAh battery.
The Alcatel Idol 5S is priced at €399.99 (roughly, Rs. 30,000).

Alcatel Idol 5
The Idol 5 is equipped with a Quad-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset. The smartphone features a 13MP primary shooter at the rear panel. Up front, there is a 5MP sensor for selfies. Other than that, all the features of the Idol 5 are the same as the Idol 5S.
The Idol 5 is available at €239.99 (approximately Rs. 18,000).

Alcatel A7 XL
As the name suggests, the Alcatel A7 XL comes with a 6-inch IPS LCD display with the resolution density of 1080p. In addition, there is a large 4,000mAh battery under its hood.
The smartphone makes use of an Octa-core MediaTek MT6750S processor paired with 3GB of RAM.
On the optics front, the A7 XL features a vertically arranged rear dual camera setup comprised of a 12MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor that gives a software blur effect for portrait shots. Likewise, there is a 5MP front camera.
The Alcatel A7 XL will be sold for €279.99 (approximately Rs. 21,000).

Alcatel A7
While there is no dual camera, the Alcatel A7 boasts of a 16MP main camera. It is also backed up by a 4,000mAh battery. However, the battery is more powerful as the smartphone comes with a smaller 5.5-inch 1080p display.
The Alcatel A7 XL will be available in select markets starting from November. It will carry a price tag of €229.99 (roughly Rs. 17,500).
