Images of Microsoft's cancelled McLaren phone appear online
A year ago, speculation surrounding a Microsoft Windows phone created much excitement. The phone allegedly known as the Microsoft McLaren was a high-end phone supposed to be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 1020 handset. The highlight of the Microsoft McLaren is that it is a device with a 41MP camera on the rear. The device also includes a Xenon and LED flash.

The images were recently leaked on Baidu, in China and show the Nokia McLaren or the purported Lumia 1030. The McLaren is supposed to come with a 50MP PureView rear camera carrying a 4th generation short-pulse LED flash. The phone bears a strong resemblance to Lumia 1020, especially the camera.
The McLaren was not officially announced by Microsoft, but it was put aside later on. The handset was going to include a feature 3D Touch, an advanced feature that will allow users to manipulate live tiles without touching the display. This is however not related to Apple's 3D Touch technology seen in the new range of Apple iPhone's.
