Infinix extended its 'S' smartphone series in India with the launch of the Infinix S5 last month. The smartphone offers a quad-rear camera setup under Rs. 10,000 and is one of the cheapest smartphones to offer this feature. The device was launched with a single RAM and storage configuration, but is now likely getting a new variant. Details are as follows:

Infinix S5 New Variant Launch Details

The Infinix S5 was launched with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, the upcoming model variant will pack lower 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Reported by 91Mobiles, the device is said to carry a price tag of Rs. 8,000 which is Rs. 999 less from the standard variant.

As of now, the details on its launch and availability are unknown. However, it is suggested to go official sometime in mid-November this year. The standard variant comes in Quetzal Cyan and Violet color options, so we can expect the same colors for the upcoming handset as well.

Infinix S5 Highlight Features

One of the major highlights of the Infinix S5 is the quad-camera setup that has a 16MP primary sensor. The main sensor is accompanied by a 5MP wide-angle sensor, a depth sensor, and a Super macro lens. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP camera upfront with an f/2.0 aperture.

The device is equipped with a 6.6-inch Super Cinema display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a 2.5D curved glass on top.

Under the hood, the Infinix S5 makes use of an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB. In the software department, the device uses Android Pie OS with XOS 5.5 user interface.


The connectivity aspects include a microUSB port, a audio port, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. A 4,000 mAh battery power the device, but there is no fast charging support.
