iOS 27 India Release Date Confirmed: Check Eligible iPhones and What's New

Apple has finally confirmed when iPhone users can get their hands on iOS 27. The next major iPhone software update will begin rolling out on Monday, September 14, just days before the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max go on sale.

iOS 27 was first previewed earlier this year, but the public release brings the update to a long list of older iPhones as well. The update also marks the beginning of Apple's new Siri AI experience, although that feature will have much stricter hardware requirements.

iOS 27 Release Date and Eligible iPhones

Apple says iOS 27 will be available as a free software update on September 14. Support stretches all the way back to the iPhone 11 series and the second-generation iPhone SE.

The newly announced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will ship with iOS 27 when they become available on September 18, so they are not part of the September 14 upgrade list.

Once the update becomes available, users can check for it by heading to Settings > General > Software Update.

Siri AI Will Also Begin Rolling Out With iOS 27

One of the biggest additions arriving alongside iOS 27 is Apple's new Siri AI experience. It will begin rolling out in beta on September 14 for supported devices set to English.

Siri AI is designed to make Apple's assistant more personal and useful. It can draw on information from places such as Messages, Mail, and Photos to understand personal context, while onscreen awareness lets it help with whatever is currently being displayed on the iPhone.

However, installing iOS 27 doesn't automatically mean you'll get every Apple Intelligence feature. Apple Intelligence requires an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, an iPhone 16 model, or a newer supported iPhone. Older devices such as the iPhone 11, 12, 13, and 14 series can install iOS 27 but won't get the full Apple Intelligence experience.

Beyond Siri AI, iOS 27 brings further refinements to Apple's Liquid Glass design, additional personalization options, new Apple Intelligence features across apps including Photos and Safari, and expanded parental controls.

Apple will release iOS 27 on September 14, while the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will arrive a few days later on September 18 with the software installed out of the box.
