iPhone 16 Pro Series and Google Pixel 9 Series To Debut With Samsung's M14 OLED Display Panels
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series models in September. Now, a new report from South Korea suggests that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the first Apple smartphones to feature Samsung's "M14" OLED display panel.
The "M" series of OLED panels is designed for flagship smartphones, with the "14" denoting the number of high-performance materials used in their production. The M14 panel is said to offer improved brightness and longevity compared to previous models.

Samsung has reportedly ordered M14 materials and plans to begin mass production of the displays in the second half of this year for Apple's iPhone 16 Pro models. The iPhone 16 Pro models are rumoured to support up to 1,200 nits of typical SDR brightness, a 20% increase over current models. Moreover, all iPhone 16 models are expected to use new micro-lens OLED display technology for enhanced brightness and reduced power consumption.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are anticipated to have larger display sizes than their iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple typically launches its new iPhone series in mid-September, so it's likely that we'll see the iPhone 16 series debut around that time this year. With these potential upgrades in display technology, it will be interesting to see how the new models perform compared to their predecessors.
In addition, Google's Pixel 9 series is expected to adopt these high-performance displays which is expected to launch in August.
