iPhone 16 Series Repair Parts Now Available at Self-Service Repair Store—but Is It Available in India?

Apple has begun selling repair parts for the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models through its self-service repair store. Customers can find components and tools to fix or replace various parts, including the display, battery, rear camera system, TrueDepth camera for Face ID, back glass, speakers, and main microphone.

A replacement camera assembly costs $169 (around Rs 14,261) for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, while it is priced at $249 (around Rs 21,012) for the iPhone 16 Pro and the 16 Pro Max. Display replacements range from $279 (around Rs 23,543) to $379 (around Rs 31,982) based on the model. Battery prices start at $99 (around Rs 8,354) and go up to $119 (around Rs 10,041) for the 16 Pro models.

Apple's self-service program was introduced in 2022, allowing customers to access genuine parts, tools, and manuals to repair certain iPhones and Macs, as well as the Studio Display. This initiative aims to empower users with more control over their device repairs.

Customers who do not want to purchase tools for a single repair can access these professional repair tools. Tool kits are available to rent for seven days for all four iPhone 16 models, with a pricing of $49 (around Rs 4,000) for each kit.

In September, following the launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple released repair manuals for all four models. These manuals are now accessible alongside necessary parts and tools through Apple's self-service repair store in both the U.S. and several European countries.

The manuals not only provide repair instructions but also offer insights into the internal design of these new iPhones. Such details are often not visible until device teardowns occur. It's also worth noting that Apple's self-repair program is not accessible in India, only limited to the U.S. and select parts of Europe.
