iPhone 17 Production Begins in India’s Foxconn Facility in Bengaluru: Report
Apple's much-anticipated iPhone 17-series is expected to launch in September. A report indicates that mass production of the standard iPhone 17 model has commenced. This production is taking place at a Foxconn facility near Bengaluru, which is noted as its second-largest manufacturing unit outside China. Additionally, the handset is being assembled at Foxconn's Chennai unit.
Foxconn's Bengaluru unit, located in Devanahalli, received project approval in 2023 and was established with an investment of approximately $2.8 billion (around Rs. 24,400 crore). The company aims to increase iPhone production in India significantly, with plans to scale up from 35-40 million units in the 2024-25 period to 60 million units by 2025.

iPhone 17 Production and Specifications
The Taiwan-based contract manufacturer began importing components for the upcoming iPhone 17 from China in June. At that time, the iPhone 17 was reportedly in the trial manufacturing phase. Apple already utilises Foxconn's facility to produce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 14 on a large scale due to sustained consumer demand.
The Cupertino tech giant is anticipated to unveil its iPhone 17 series on September 9. The lineup may include the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. There are also speculations about introducing the iPhone 17 Air, potentially replacing this year's iPhone Plus-series.
Upcoming Launch Event
Apple traditionally hosts its launch event on the first Tuesday following Labour Day in September. Alongside smartphones, Apple might introduce its new Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 smartwatches during this event.
A recent report suggests that more senior executives at Apple might soon depart from the company. Meanwhile, an Apple Watch featuring new sensors and a major redesign is expected to launch in 2026.
