iQOO 12 launch date set for Nov 7: Confirmed to be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC phone in India

Qualcomm recently launched the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the next generation of Android flagships. Several smartphone makers including Xiaomi and Vivo have already confirmed the launch of phones with the new Snapdragon chip.

And iQOO is set to join their ranks. The iQOO 12 5G recently got an official launch date in China. The iQOO 12 5G will succeed last year's iQOO 11 5G. GSMArena's report had no mention of the iQOO 12 Pro.

iQOO 12 5G Launch Date

The report notes that the iQOO 12 launch date in China is set for November 7. Additionally, the iQOO 12 5G will also roll out to international markets later this year. iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya confirmed that the iQOO 12 5G will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone in India.

Apart from using the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the iQOO 12 will also feature a dedicated display processor with hardware-accelerated ray tracing. The iQOO 12 will also be able to break through native frame rate caps set by game developers.

The report also notes that the iQOO 12 will be able to run popular mobile games like PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Genshin Impact, and League of Legends Mobile at 144 fps with frame interpolation. However, the list of supported games will increase when the phone launches.

iQOO 12 5G Specifications (Expected)

The iQOO 12 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The iQOO 12 is also expected to sport a 6.7-inch 1.5K E7 AMOELD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 12 5G could also pack a 5,200 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

For optics, the iQOO 12 5G will likely get a triple-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 64 MP telephoto shooter. The phone is also expected to feature an IP64 rating for resistance to minor splashes. The iQOO 12 5G will come in a Red Vegan leather option, a BMW Motorsport themed option, and a Black version.
