iQOO Neo12 Confirmed to Launch This Month With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 9,000mAh Battery

iQOO Neo12 has been confirmed as the company's upcoming performance-focused smartphone, with a launch scheduled by the end of October. Positioned below iQOO's main numbered flagship series, the phone is expected to focus on gaming performance, display technology and battery life.

Key highlights include a 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an active cooling fan and a 9,000mAh battery. iQOO has also confirmed several gaming-focused features, including a dedicated Q3 gaming chip and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

iQOO Neo12 Launch Details

iQOO confirmed the Neo12 launch timeline during a screen technology conference held in collaboration with Visionox and Tsinghua University. Luo Feng, Vice President of iQOO Products, said the smartphone would succeed the Neo11 as part of the company's dual-flagship strategy.

The upcoming device will target users seeking high-end gaming hardware and advanced display features without opting for iQOO's top-tier numbered flagship. The company has yet to announce the phone's price or detailed availability information, which is expected to be revealed at its launch later this month.

iQOO Neo12 Specifications and Features

The iQOO Neo12 will feature a 2K 185Hz Super Crown Screen developed with Visionox and Tsinghua University. The panel uses pTSF technology and a dedicated display driver chip, with claimed full-screen peak brightness of 2,200 nits and a minimum brightness of 1 nit. Other display features include XDR dynamic range enhancement and Circularly Polarized Light Display 2.0.

For gaming, iQOO claims support for 2K resolution and 185FPS processing, with more than 50 native 185FPS game titles. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with the company's Q3 gaming chip and next-generation Monster Hyper-Core Engine.

The Neo12 will also feature an Ice Dome active air-cooling system with a built-in fan to help maintain performance during extended gaming sessions. Its 9,000mAh Blue Ocean battery uses fifth-generation silicon anode technology, with a claimed energy density of up to 916Wh/L.

Other confirmed features include hardware-accelerated ray tracing, gaming visual filters, dedicated in-game camera tools, glare protection and Q-flex touch control technology. The phone will feature a metal middle frame, a square rear camera module and an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

With its high-refresh-rate display, active cooling and large battery, the iQOO Neo12 is shaping up to be a gaming-centric flagship alternative. Pricing and availability details remain unannounced.
