iQOO Z8 Surfaces On Google Play Supported Devices List After 3C And Geekbench Revealing Key Specs

Vivo's sub-brand iQOO is expected to launch its iQOO Z8 series smartphones early next month. These smartphones have secured China's 3C certification and have also been spotted on the Google Play Supported Devices list.

The iQOO Z8 series is expected to include the entry-level iQOO Z8x, the middle-level iQOO Z8, and the top-end iQOO Z8 Pro. These devices have been appearing in multiple certifications, benchmarking, and "supported devices" listings. Let's look at the latest available details about the upcoming midrange Android smartphones from iQOO.

iQOO Z8 Secures 3C And Google Play Supported Devices Certifications

The iQOO Z8 received the 3C certification from China. In addition to indicating these devices should launch in the country soon, the 3C certification has revealed that the iQOO Z8 series smartphones could support 120W wired fast charging.

Smartphones from the iQOO Z8 series have also appeared in the Google Play Supported Devices list. All iQOO Z8 smartphones, popping up in various listings and certification databases, bear the same model number: V2314A. Incidentally, this very device was put through the Geekbench tests, and the resulting listing has revealed several key specifications of what appears to be a capable midrange smartphone from iQOO.

iQOO Z8 Leaked Specifications, Features, Expected Launch, Price, And Availability

iQOO has taken the smartphone world by storm. The smartphones this brand has been launching are packed with capable hardware and have eye-catching looks. They are available in vibrant colors and are often priced very aggressively.

The iQOO Z8 series too appears to be following the same design philosophy. The Geekbench listing indicates at least one of the smartphones in the iQOO Z8 series will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, which would be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Recent reports suggest the entry-level iQOO Z8x could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen chipset. This SoC could be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The upcoming iQOO Z8 series smartphones might not get AMOLED screens. IQOO is rumored to have used IPS LCD panels with a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This could explain the presence of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, instead of an under-display one.

All the devices under the upcoming iQOO Z8 series should pack 500mAh battery packs. However, only the top-end model could support 120W wired charging, while the base model could be restricted to 44W wired fast charging, which is even lower than the 80W charging speed supported by the iQOO Z7x.

For photography and videos, the iQOO Z8 series should feature a triple camera on the back, headlined by a 64MP primary camera. There could be a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

The iQOO Z8 series should be available in vibrant shades of Black, Blue, and Green. Smartphones in the series could start below the ₹15,000 mark when they launch in India later this year. Some reports suggest iQOO could launch the iQOO Z8 series early next month in China, and then gradually release the devices in the series in other markets.
