iQOO has confirmed the official launch date for the iQOO Z8 and the iQOO Z8x. These smartphones have been positioned in the midrange Android smartphone category but feature capable hardware from Qualcomm and MediaTek.
The IQOO Z8 series will have the entry-level iQOO Z8x, the middle-level iQOO Z8, and presumably the top-end iQOO Z8 Pro. For now, iQOO will launch the base and the middle iterations. iQOO Z8 Series Smartphones To Launch This Month On August 31, 2023
iQOO has confirmed the upcoming iQOO Z8 series smartphones will launch on August 31. The launch and availability of the iQOO Z8 and the Z8x smartphones are currently restricted to China.
Incidentally, the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is about to launch in India. Hence, it is possible that iQOO could launch the Z8 series smartphones outside China in the fourth quarter of this year. Simply put, Indian buyers could get access to the iQOO Z8, the iQOO Z8x, and the iQOO Z8 Pro during Diwali.
The main launch event is scheduled to start on August 31, 2023, at 7 PM China (4:30 PM IST). IQOO should offer a live stream of the launch via its social media accounts.
iQOO has released a teaser video that mentions the launch event. The video also confirms the iQOO Z8 will be powered by the 5nm, octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC.
The brand is withholding the specifications about the iQOO Z8x but multiple leaks have filled the information gap.

The IQOO Z8 and IQOO Z8x share some specifications but are quite different as they should be positioned in different price brackets. The iQOO Z8 appears to sit above the iQOO Z8x.
The iQOO Z8 and IQOO Z8x feature a 6.64-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both run OriginOS 3.0, based on Android 13 and feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The IQOO Z8 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, which is paired with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. Buyers can get up to 12GB RAM, and up to 512GB internal storage.
The iQOO Z8x is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which is paired with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. Buyers can get up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB internal storage.

The iQOO Z8 features a 64MP primary camera with OIS, which is accompanied 2MP macro lens on the back. It has a 16MP selfie camera.
The iQOO Z8x has a 50MP primary camera, which is accompanied 2MP macro lens on the back. It has an 8MP selfie camera.
The iQOO Z8 packs a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 120W wired fast charging. The iQOO Z8x is tipped to feature a 6,000mAh battery, which supports 44W wired fast charging.
iQOO hasn't confirmed the final pricing of the iQOO Z8 series smartphones. However, based on the specifications, the devices could be aggressively priced, presumably below ₹20,000.
