iVOOMi releases OTA update for i1 and i1s smartphones to fix bugs

iVOOMi, the Chinese manufacturer recently launched the smartphones i1 and i1s in India. While the smartphones received positive response from users, the company had identified some bugs, which reduced the battery performance, caused security vulnerabilities, and slowed down the system. This is why the company has released an OTA update for both the i1 and i1s smartphones.

The update in i1 is aimed at enhancing the device performance, fixing some minor bugs, and addressing the issues regarding system security patch while for i1s, it would mean better performance, longer battery backup, and elimination of some minor bugs. The users will get a push notification to install the wireless update. After clicking the 'Install Now' button, the device powers off and enter into the Recovery Mode.

The good thing is, the update only takes a few minutes to install. Users are recommended to start the installation process only when their phone's battery is at least 30% charged. The total memory size of the update is 307.68 MB, so users should also ensure that their device has sufficient space.

ivoomi i1 First Impressions

Talking about the smartphones, the iVOOMi i1 sports a 5.45-inch HD Infinity Edge display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor that is clubbed with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the optics front, the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 2MP sensors with autofocus, flash and HDR mode. Up front, there is a selfie camera is of 8MP sensor with the beauty mode. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat and packs a 3,000mAh battery.

The iVoomi i1s has a similar specifications as the i1 save for the RAM and storage configuration. The smartphone features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of default memory capacity that can again be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
