Reliance Jio is readying a smartphone optimized for the Jio True 5G networks in India. The device has now appeared in a few leaked images, revealing the real-life 5G speed tests at an undisclosed location.

In the past, JioPhone 5G surfaced on the Geekbench website packing 4GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC. However, the latest leak claims a different set of hardware and features. Let's look at the latest rumors and leaks about the JioPhone 5G.

Rumors about the JioPhone 5G have been doing the rounds of the internet since last year. In fact, Reliance Jio announced that it would launch an affordable 5G smartphone in collaboration with Google at its Annual General Meeting in 2022.

The latest leak about the JioPhone 5G from Twitter user @ArpitNahiMila offers the first look at the device. The leak also suggests several key specifications, design, display, camera specs, price bracket, and the upcoming JioPhone 5G release date.

The JioPhone 5G appears to be a budget smartphone whose primary aim seems to be optimized and reliable connection to Jio True 5G networks. The leak reveals a device with a plastic back that has the Jio branding with the words "Ultimate Speed, Unlimited Experiences" printed at the bottom.

The JioPhone 5G has a dual-camera setup on the back, nestled inside a pill-shaped camera island. The leak confirms that the dual camera setup features a 13MP primary camera, paired with a secondary 2MP camera.

The smartphone appears to have an LCD display on the front with a waterdrop notch on top. The leak claims there's a 5MP front-facing camera inside the notch.

Earlier reports about the JioPhone 5G suggested the smartphone would be powered by a Snapdragon 480+ SoC, but the latest leak claims the upcoming smartphone will feature either a UNISOC 5G or a Dimensity 700 chipset. Needless to mention, all these chipsets are meant for budget smartphones.
