JioPhone users will get Facebook from February 14

Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio today said that Facebook will be available on the JioPhone, India ka smartphone a new version of the app which is built specially for Jio KaiOS.

The new Facebook supports push notifications, video, and links to external content. The app is also optimized to successfully accommodate the cursor function on JioPhone and delivers a best-in-class performance for Facebook's most popular features, such as News Feed and Photos.

Jio also said that the Facebook will be available on the Jio feature phone from February 14.

Meanwhile, a report by research firm CMR LYF's JioPhone was the major growth driver for 4Q CY2017. Its shipments grew more than five-fold in 4Q. This new trend led to the surge in market share of feature phones. With local manufactured JioPhones hitting the market in coming quarters, the vendor is expected to better its performance in 4Q CY2017.

Jio has also announced the lowest rental plan of Rs. 49 in which the company is offering unlimited voice and data for 28 days for JioPhone subscribers.
