Karbonn K9 Smart Grand launched: So what's special about this budget smartphone?

Karbonn K9 Smart Grand is the latest smartphone from the Indian smartphone brand Karbonn.

    Karbonn, the local smartphone manufacturer has yet again launched a new smartphone in its K9 series. Dubbed as Karbonn K9 Smart Grand, this smartphone is the successor to last year's Karbonn K9 Smart.

    However, the new Karbonn K9 Smart Grand comes with some noticeable upgrades over its predecessor. K9 Smart Grand now comes with a fingerprint scanner. One similarity though, this new handset will also cater to the entry-level segment and is a decent offering considering its features and specifications. We can't argue anything taking the price into account.

    As such the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,290 and will be available in two colors - Black and Champagne.

    Display, RAM, Processor and Storage

    Talking about the display first, Karbonn K9 Smart comes with a 5.2-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display that has a 2.5D curved glass on top for added protection.

    The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (unknown) which is paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 8GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

    Cameras

    As for the optics, Karbonn K9 Smart Grand is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash and several shooting modes like Panorama shot, continuous shot, and has a face detection feature. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

    Other Features

    Karbonn K9 Smart Grand is backed by a 2300mAh Li-Po battery and the dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

    The device offers connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, USB OTG, and 3.5mm audio jack apart from 4G VoLTE option. Karbonn K9 Smart Grand measures 9.45 mm and weighs in at 178 grams.
