The initial set of offering from the company included a budget Dazen 1 (Redmi 2 competitor) and the top of the line Dazen X7. Among the duo the Dazen 1 faired reasonably well in the market thanks to its budget price tag.
Nevertheless Coolpad is back again and this time with their new budget phablet offering dubbed the Coolpad Note 3. Launched a few days back at just Rs 8,999 the Coolpad Note 3 has gained significant publicity thanks to the Fingerprint Sensor on the back.

In spite of the added nicety the Coolpad Note 3 will face stiff competition from the Lenovo K3 Note (price Rs 9,999). The YU Yureka Plus is yet another probable replacement for the Note 3, however analysts at Gizbot consider the K3 Note as much better choice.
So let's find out whether the all new Coolpad Note 3 is better than the indomitable K3 Note.
Coolpad Note 3 vs Lenovo K3 Note
Coolpad has payed attention to details while making their Note 3 handset. The back of the device is ever so slightly curved to the side for a better grip. Further Coolpad has made use of a matte finish rear panel instead of a glossy one.
On the other hand the Lenovo K3 Note comes out rather ‘brick' like! There's no doubt the K3 Note is a well-built phone, however in terms of looks it is surely a back bencher.

This is an area where the Coolpad Note 3 takes a real beating. China's largest OEM has included just a HD (1280x720) IPS LCD Panel onto the Note 3. On the other hand the K3 Note sports a generous Full HD (1920x1080) panel.
Surprisingly the Coolpad's HD display turned out to be pretty good during the hands on time with the device. Further the panel appeared to supposedly brighter than the most.

Lenovo K3 Note is a performance king. And the launch of the Coolpad Note 3 won't do any harm to its credential. Apparently the K3 Note with markedly faster Mediatek 6752 CPU and a Mali T760 GPU is a much better option than the 6753 powered Coolpad.
Coolpad Note 3 vs Lenovo K3 Note
The USP of the Coolpad Note 3 other than the Fingerprint Scanner is in the large 3GB RAM. Apparently it is one of the rare few 3GB RAM phones available under Rs 10,000 in India. In fact Intex Cloud Swift at Rs 8,888 is the only other device with such a large RAM.
Fingerprint panels below the primary camera is boon for the Coolpad Chinese love for fingerprint sensor is clearly visible in the Fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. Apparently the Coolpad is the only device under Rs 10,000 in India to sport a Fingerprint scanner.
Coolpad Note 3 vs Lenovo K3 Note
Unlike the Lenovo K3 Note which uses an f/2.2 13MP rear camera, the Coolpad Note 3 utilizes a larger f/2.0 aperture. This is of great use while shooting low light images.

The mid-range phablets come with a rather similar 5MP selfie snapper to please the new selfie generation. The front shooters are capable of shooting 720p/HD videos.
Coolpad Note 3 vs Lenovo K3 Note
As expected both the devices run on Android Lollipop (5.0) out of the box. However there's a slight difference in the interface between the two, thanks to the CoolUI 6.0 in the Coolpad and the VIBE UI in the K3 Note.
