Lava Agni 2 5G Series with MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Tipped to Launch in India in March

Lava is gearing up to launch the successor of the Lava Agni 5G smartphone. The company's first 5G smartphone, launched in 2021, was a mid-range device with a MediaTek processor. Now, according to a new report, the Indian brand is about to launch the Lava Agni 2 5G, which may include a new Pro variant.
The Lava Agni 2 could be positioned as a mid-range flagship, taking on 5G smartphones under ₹25,000. The successor is likely to be powered by a MediaTek processor too, and may launch in the first half of 2023.
Lava Agni 2 5G in the Works
Pricebaba, in collaboration with tipster Paras Guglani, Lava reported that Lava is readying to launch the Lava Agni 2 5G. The smartphone could be released some time in March or April. The upcoming smartphone is likely to sport a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. The processor is tipped to be the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, the same chipset that powers the Realme 10 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 12 Pro.
The processor in the Agni 2 5G could be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage with the option to expand storage space through a microSD card slot. The smartphone is said to be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery. Furthermore, the Lava Agni 2 5G is also likely to be the company's fastest charging smartphone with 44W fast charging through a USB-C port.
As for the optics, the Lava Agni 2 5G is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS support with a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. The smartphone is said to come with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
Lava Agni 2 5G: Expected Price and Availability
While not much else is known about the upcoming mid-ranger from Lava, the smartphone is said to be priced under ₹25,000, making it the most affordable smartphone powered by the Dimensity 1080 SoC.
