Lava Shark 2 Teased Ahead of India Launch, Brings iPhone-Style Camera Design

Lava has officially confirmed the launch of its next smartphone in the Shark series, the Lava Shark 2, in India. The company revealed the first details of the upcoming device through a teaser post, confirming a focus on camera performance and a refreshed design that builds on the Lava Shark 5G launched earlier this year.

Lava Shark 2 Set to Launch in India With 50MP AI Triple Camera

50MP AI Triple Camera Confirmed

According to a post shared by Lava Mobiles on X (formerly Twitter), the Lava Shark 2 will feature a 50-megapixel AI triple rear camera setup. The teaser also shows the rear panel design, where the camera island resembles the layout seen on Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max. The camera module includes the “50MP AI Camera” branding and an LED flash within the same housing.

Design and Build Details

The Lava Shark 2 retains much of the design language of its predecessor while adding small refinements. The device features a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera and a clean rear design with curved edges.

The power and volume buttons are placed on the right side of the frame, while the left edge remains plain. At the bottom, the phone houses a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grille, and microphone.

Lava has confirmed two color options for the Shark 2 — Blue and Silver — both paired with a metallic-finish frame.

Expected Specifications

While Lava has not yet shared the full specifications of the upcoming Shark 2, the device is expected to bring moderate hardware improvements over the Lava Shark 5G.

To recap, the Lava Shark 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, powered by the Unisoc T765 SoC. It comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and support for virtual RAM expansion up to 4GB. Storage can be further expanded by up to 1TB via a microSD card.

The previous model included a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging, and a similar capacity is expected on the Shark 2. Connectivity options are also likely to include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

Launch Timeline and Availability

Lava has not announced an official launch date yet, but the teaser confirms that the Shark 2 will debut in India “soon.” The company is expected to reveal more details, including its processor, pricing, and availability, in the coming weeks.

The Lava Shark 2 will succeed the Shark 5G, which was introduced in May 2025, and will likely target the same entry-to-midrange smartphone segment in India.
