Lava has officially expanded its budget smartphone portfolio in India. The domestic brand launched the Virat V1 and Virat V1 5G devices. Developed in partnership with Flipkart, this online-first series targets digital-first consumers. This includes budget-conscious students and young professionals seeking highly reliable, daily-driver options.

Lava Managing Director Sunil Raina stated the series merges meaningful utility with competitive hardware. He emphasised that partnering with Flipkart expands their direct merchant reach. Flipkart Vice President Kanchan Mishra also highlighted online consumer trust. She noted the collaboration delivers top-tier features and secure delivery to budget-focused buyers across India.

The Lava Virat V1 5G price in India starts from Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB configuration. On the other hand, the 4G Lava Virat V1 price in India is set at Rs 9,999 for the same 4GB/64GB variant.

Both smartphones go on sale starting 31 July 2026. Buyers can purchase them via Flipkart and Lava's official website. Additionally, Lava is offering an introductory launch-day discount of Rs 1,000 on both 4G and 5G Virat V1 models.

Lava also bundles its Free Service@Home program with the Virat V1. This diagnostic initiative provides convenient, doorstep-based repairs for customers nationwide. Home servicing covers remote villages and urban areas alike. Flipkart will also offer secure Open Box Delivery during shipments.

Lava Virat V1 Series Specifications

The Lava Virat V1 5G features a capable UNISOC T8200 processor. It sports a spacious 6.75-inch HD+ display with a modern 120Hz refresh rate. Conversely, the standard 4G model runs a UNISOC SC9863A chipset. This affordable budget variant supports a basic 90Hz refresh rate on a screen of matching size.

Both handsets offer 4GB of physical RAM. They also include 4GB of virtual RAM expansion. Internal storage is set at 64GB, which is expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card. The 5G variant runs latest Android 16. The 4G model uses Android 15 Go edition. Both environments promise zero bloatware and ads.

Battery capacities differ significantly between these two budget devices. The primary 5G model carries a massive 6000mAh battery for extended usage. The standard 4G version gets a dependable 5000mAh cell. Both smartphones support 10W charging capabilities through Type-C ports. Additionally, they carry a robust IP64 dust and water resistance rating.

A 13-megapixel AI dual camera handles photography needs. For video calls and selfies, both devices have a 5-megapixel front camera. The 5G version comes in stylish Arya Blue and Sonar Gold finishes. Buyers of the 4G variant can select from Nilgiri Blue or Himalayan Silver colour options.
