Lava Yuva Star 2 With 13MP Camera and 5000mAh Battery Launched at ₹6,499
Lava has added a new member to its budget-friendly Yuva series with the launch of the Yuva Star 2, positioned as the follow-up to last year’s Yuva Star. Priced at ₹6,499, this 4G smartphone targets entry-level users looking for basic functionality, essential features, and a clean Android experience.
The device is already available across offline retail stores in India and comes in Radiant Black and Sparkling Ivory finishes.

Familiar Hardware, Slight Bump in Software
The Yuva Star 2 sticks to basics, starting with a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and 2.5D glass for slightly rounded edges. It’s powered by an octa-core UNISOC processor—a common choice in this segment—and comes with 4GB of RAM, plus 4GB of virtual RAM for smoother multitasking.
The phone runs Android 14 (Go Edition), which is a lighter version of Android designed for devices with lower memory. This keeps the system lean and responsive, even with modest internals.
Cameras and Battery: Standard but Functional
For photography, the phone includes a 13MP main rear camera supported by a secondary AI lens and an LED flash. On the front, there’s a 5MP selfie camera. Given the price range, camera performance will likely suit only basic needs—video calls, scanning documents, and casual snapshots.
The Yuva Star 2 features a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably last a full day on light to moderate use. Charging happens over a USB Type-C port at 10W, which is typical at this price point.
Useful Additions: Fingerprint, FM Radio, and Call Recording
Despite its budget nature, Lava includes a few thoughtful touches. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a feature for anonymous call recording—something that's rare in entry-level phones.
The phone also offers Dual 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and expandable storage up to 512GB via microSD.
