We might soon see a smartphone from the forgotten Chinese smartphone maker LeEco. As per some reports, the Chinese company is planning its second innings in the smartphone business and is working on a new smartphone to rise from the ashes. As per IANS, LeEco is reportedly gearing up to launch a smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The smartphone will possibly go by the name Le X.

The report from Gizmochina hints towards some leaked renders of the LeEco's upcoming full-screen smartphone. The images have been spotted on China's social media website Weibo and offer some insights about the new smartphone. The first image shows the handset from front and rear which clearly suggests that the smartphone has very thin bezels on either sides of the screen.

The design of the new smartphone seems quite streamlined. There are curved edges at both the front and back which is unlike the company's previous smartphones launched in the Indian market. The volume rockers are placed on the left edge and a 3.5mm headphone jack can also be seen at the top edge of the smartphone. The images also hint towards a high screen-to-body ratio. LeEco's upcoming smartphone will also sport a dual-lens camera setup placed at the rear panel. The camera setup will be accompanied with an LED flash light.

The second image gives a complete glimpse of the rear side of the smartphone. The vertically placed dual-lens camera setup and curved edges reminds us of Nokia 8, which might have been used as the design inspiration for LeEco's upcoming handset.

We believe that the upcoming smartphone will a mid-ranger and if it ever made it to the Indian market, it will fight the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Moto G5S Plus and other handsets priced under Rs. 20,000. But the question is- Will LeEco ever make it again to India's smartphone landscape?

As noted, LeEco shut operations in India last year after the company failed to pay its suppliers and the staff. Resultant, the company let go 85 per cent staff across the sales, marketing and distribution departments. After a rapid expansion at the end of 2016, LeEco vanished into thin air and left behind employees and vendors with unpaid dues.

Even if LeEco starts its second inning in India, we would not recommend our readers to invest in the company's products. There are much better options to invest in the Indian smartphone market rather than LeEco whose future prospects seems troubled.
