LG G7 ThinQ will have a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ “Super Bright Display”
The LG G7 ThinQ will arrive with an ultra-bright screen.
LG G7 ThinQ will soon be unveiled. LG has already sent out press invites for the launch event of the smartphone. Being a flagship device, the G7 ThinQ has been subject to numerous leaks and rumors. Not only leaks, LG has now revealed a highlighted feature of the upcoming smartphone. The G7 ThinQ will come with an ultra-bright screen.
Instead of an OLED panel, the LG G7 ThinQ will be fitted with a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ (3,120×1,440) 19:5:9 FullVision "Super Bright Display". The smartphone will not only be taller than its predecessor, but it will also have a bottom bezel that's 50 percent slimmer. LG further claims that G7 ThinQ's display will be the "brightest" and "most vibrant" on the market.
The display will be able to achieve a maximum brightness level of 1,000 nit, which sounds good on paper. For comparison, the LG G7 ThinQ will feature a display that is twice as bright as the Pixel XL, OnePlus 3T, Pixel 2, and Note 8 at full brightness.
Moreover, LG's new Super Bright Display technology can cover 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. It can also automatically choose the suitable color settings among six different color settings depending on what's being displayed, including Auto, Eco, Cinema, Sports, Game, and Expert.
For example, while watching videos the G7 ThinQ will set the Cinema mode, but while browsing the web, the smartphone will change its display setting to reduce power consumption. According to LG, the profile-switching feature helps the G7 ThinQ's display save about 30 percent more power than the G6.
Notably, each of these display modes will come with an adjustable RGB color level option that will allow users to choose between RGB gamuts while the modes are on.
While this is everything LG has revealed, previous reports have given us a fair idea of what to expect from the G7 ThinQ. In terms of specifications, the smartphone is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. However, we expect the smartphone to have another variant with more storage.
The G7 ThinQ is also said to arrive with an iPhone X-like notch and dual rear cameras with AI capabilities.
