LG Q8 which is basically a smaller and affordable variant of the V20 was launched in Italy in the month of July. However, at the time of the launch, the company did not disclose the pricing of the handset.
But that has just changed now. The company has revealed the smartphone price during the South Korea launch on Thursday, August 24. Basically, LG has launched the smartphone at a price of KRW 616,000 (approximately Rs. 35,100). The smartphone will also be available in Urban Titan and Sweet Pink colors in the country.
Commenting on the launch of LG Q8 in South Korea, Lee Sang-gyu, MD of Korea Mobile Group at LG said, "We will continue to show a variety of Q series with key features of premium products at reasonable prices."
If you have missed out in this smartphone, then just to recall, LG Q8 which is the mini variant of the LG V20 that features a metal body design. This smartphone also comes with a secondary always on display (160×1040 pixels) placed next to the front camera. The function of secondary display is that it shows information like time, battery status, and notifications.
In addition, LG Q8 sports a 5.2-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled which is coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage, which is further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.
As for the cameras, LG Q8 comes with a rear dual camera setup that consists of a 13-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture.
The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it runs on the company's LG UX 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options offered by the handset include Wi-Fi802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2, and USB Type-C.
One of the key highlights of this smartphone LG Q8 comes with IP67 certification, making it water and dust resistant. There's a fingerprint sensor at the back of the smartphone. Much like LG high-end smartphones, the LG Q8 also comes with 32-bit quad DAC support. The handset measures 149x71.9x7.9mm and weighs 146 grams.
