LG's next flagship to be launched in June: Won't be called G7

According to a new report from VentureBeat's Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks we might have to wait for few more months before the device is officially unveiled. Besides his report states that LG's next flagship smartphone is set to arrive in June.

And that's not it! His report notes that the device will not be called LG G7 either. If this is true then we might not see any G series smartphones anymore. However, the device is now being identified by its codename: Judy.

Well, it looks like everything is happening following LG's decision to review its next flagship phone and possibly start from scratch. Today's report also confirms the same.

The report has also detailed the specs and features of the smartphone. So Judy will come with an HDR10-capable 6.1-inch touchscreen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 800-nit brightness. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset and will be paired with 4GB of RAM. The handset will offer 64GB of built-in storage. The report also states that there could be a "Plus" or "S" model as well with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM combo.

Judy is said to be using LG's new "MLCD+" display tech which seemingly consumes 35 percent less power than a standard IPS LCD. The panel will feature a RGBW subpixel matrix, where "W" stands for White.

Talking about the cameras, the handset is said to sport dual rear cameras with glass optical elements. There will be two 16MP sensors which will have a f/1.6 aperture. Additionally, features include IP68 water and dust resistance with a military standard rating for durability, camera AI, digital assistant and wireless charging. The device could have better audio with stereo speakers.

In any case, we will have to wait for further details to pop up. Right now we can just speculate.
