Previously, LG was speculated to unveil an upgraded version of its flagship LG V30 smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2018 tech show. Going by the fresh information that has hit the web, it is claimed that the rumored smartphone might have the moniker LG V30s. It is believed that the device will be listed for sale starting from early March in the company's home market South Korea.
LG will be hosting an event at the MWC 2018 show floor on February 26 at 11:30 AM. It is believed that the company will unveil the V30s at this event. A report by ETNews has revealed the detailed specifications and pricing information of the LG V30s just a few weeks ahead of the unveiling of this smartphone. Though the specs and price of the LG V30s are out, we cannot come to any kind of conclusion based on these as the final details have to be announced officially by the South Korean tech giant.
LG V30s specs
From the leaked information, the LG V30s is said to be an advanced variant of the V30 and V30+ those were launched in the last year. While these smartphones came with 64GB and 128GB storage capacity, the V30s is believed to feature a whopping 256GB of internal storage. The design and specs are said to be identical to the previous generation model. Eventually, we can expect the LG V30s to feature a 6-inch FullVision OLED display with QHD+ resolution and make use of a Snapdragon 835 SoC, dual 16MP rear cameras and a 5MP selfie camera. The battery capacity of the upcoming LG phone is said to be 3300mAh.
LG Lens to be included
The major difference that will set the LG V30s apart from the V30 and V30+ is said to be the LG Lens feature. If this turns out to be true, then the V30s will be the first device from the company to arrive with this functionality. LG Lens brings the AI capabilities to the device's camera. It will function similar to Bixby Vision on the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 smartphones and Google Lens on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
With LG Lens, on clicking a photo of a product using the LG V30s camera, you will be able to get to know all the details of that specific product available online. It will list the similar products and others with similar pricing. LG Lens comes with support for QR code and barcode recognition. Also, the feature supports foreign language translation. With GPS, the LG Lens can calculate the real-time location of the users and give information related to surrounding places as well based on the direction and angle of the camera.
It is speculated that the LG V30s with LG Lens will be released in South Korea in early March via three major operators - SK Telecom, LG Uplus and KT Corporation. The smartphone is said to be priced at 1 million won (approx. Rs. 59,000).
