Madhav Sheth bids farewell to Realme after five years, Founder Sky Li to oversee operations
Madhav Sheth officially announced his departure from Chinese smartphone maker Realme. Sheth was appointed as Realme India CEO five years ago and only stepped down from his role earlier this year to be appointed as Vice President for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global).
Madhav Sheth announced his exit from the company in a letter at Twitter, where he also confirmed Realme Founder and CEO Sky Li will oversee operations in the region. As Realme India CEO, Sheth oversaw the launch of the Realme 2 in India back in 2018.

What's next for Madhav Sheth?
Sheth mentioned that he would now cheer on Realme from the sidelines, serving as a strategic advisor to Realme India for its "development strategy, global product observations, market insights, and operating suggestions." In his tweet, Sheth said, "Farewell for now, but our paths may cross again soon, and that's something to look forward to building a better and bigger me."
"The Government of India has taken many steps towards enhancing Indian exports for many years, and I am happy to be a part of this and support the government's export plan." He said told CEO Li that it was time for him to contribute his share to India's export business. However, last week report emerged that Sheth could oversee Honor's return to the Indian market.
Madhav Sheth and Realme: A history of success!
Sheth said, "After five years at Realme, it's time for me to move on and start a new journey. Realme has been an integral part of my life, a brand that was more than just an organisation; it has been my home, passion, and purpose. I am proud of everything we accomplished together over the past five years as we grew the brand and watched it proliferate."
In his tenure as Realme India CEO, Sheth saw the brand hit several milestones in the country.
- Realme became the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India
- Realme became India's second-largest smartphone brand
- Realme became the "number one quality smartphone brand in India
Realme is yet to announce a successor to Sheth and founder Sky Li will currently oversee operations in the region. However, a spokesperson for Realme said that operations will continue seamlessly.
