MediaTek Dimensity 7450 & 7450X Chips Launched for Next Generation of Mid-Range Smartphones

MediaTek has officially expanded its mid-premium smartphone processor portfolio with the launch of the new MediaTek Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X chipsets. The new 4nm processors have quietly appeared on the company's official website and are expected to power several upcoming Android smartphones and foldable devices in 2026.

Among the early rumours, the Dimensity 7450X is tipped to debut inside the upcoming Motorola Razr 70 foldable smartphone. Both chipsets focus heavily on gaming, AI performance, camera enhancements, and improved connectivity features for mid-range premium devices.

MediaTek Dimensity 7450 & 7450X Chips Launched

MediaTek Dimensity 7450 Series Specifications and Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X feature nearly identical hardware specifications. Both processors are based on a 4nm-class manufacturing process and use an octa-core CPU architecture.

The chipset includes:

  • Four Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz
  • Four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores
  • Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU for graphics processing

MediaTek claims the new chips are designed to offer smoother gaming performance, better multitasking, and improved power efficiency compared to previous-generation Dimensity processors.

Gaming and AI Features Get Major Upgrades

Gaming is one of the biggest focus areas for the new Dimensity 7450 series. MediaTek has integrated its HyperEngine gaming technologies along with Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0 to dynamically optimise performance and power consumption during gameplay.

The company has also added its sixth-generation NPU for AI processing. According to MediaTek, the upgraded AI engine delivers up to 7 percent better AI performance while improving efficiency for AI photography, computational imaging, and edge AI tasks.

Connectivity features on both chipsets include:

  • 5G support with download speeds up to 3.27Gbps
  • 3CC carrier aggregation
  • Wi-Fi 6E
  • Bluetooth 5.4

Camera and Display Support on the Dimensity 7450 Series

For photography and multimedia, both chipsets feature the MediaTek Imagiq 950 ISP. The processors support up to 200MP camera sensors along with advanced imaging capabilities.

Key camera features include:

  • 4K HDR video recording
  • Hardware-assisted noise reduction
  • Google Ultra HDR image support

On the display side, the Dimensity 7450 series supports:

  • WFHD+ displays at 120Hz
  • Full HD+ panels at up to 144Hz refresh rate

The processors also support LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X RAM with memory speeds up to 6400Mbps. Storage compatibility includes both UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 standards.

MediaTek Dimensity 7450X vs Dimensity 7450

The biggest difference between the two chipsets lies in foldable device optimisation. The Dimensity 7450X includes support for dual-display functionality designed specifically for flip-style foldable smartphones.

This allows better management of internal and external displays, making the chipset more suitable for compact foldables like the rumored Motorola Razr 70. Meanwhile, the standard Dimensity 7450 is expected to power conventional smartphones focused on gaming, entertainment, and AI features.

With the launch of the Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X, MediaTek is strengthening its position in the competitive mid-premium smartphone chipset segment. The combination of upgraded gaming technologies, AI enhancements, advanced camera support, and foldable-ready features could make these processors attractive options for upcoming Android smartphones and flip foldables in 2026.
