Micromax Canvas Infinity series smartphones to be launched on August 22
Micromax to unveil Canvas Infinity series smartphones on August 22.
Better mark your calendars for August 22. Why? Because Micromax has now started sending out press invites for an August 22 event where the company will be announcing its Canvas Infinity series smartphones.
The invite from Micromax reads, "Let's put a number to Infinity. 22.09.2017. Block your date." While a launch is always exciting, the local smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch three devices in a new Canvas Infinity series. The smartphones will likely feature an Infinity Screen with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Talking about Infinity displays, currently, only premium smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8, and LG G6 feature such displays. And as you must have seen with these high-end smartphones, the screen is bezel-less with a wider resolution. Further, the aspect ratio of these screens is 18:9.
However, with Infinity series, it looks like Micromax is trying to create some stir in the market. And who knows if it does manage to bring something unique and attractive it might actually help the local player to come back in the mid-range segment and go up against the likes of Xiaomi, Samsung, and Oppo who are at the top these days.
As of now, all that we know about the upcoming Infinity smartphone is that the handset will most probably be a high-end phone with a Qualcomm SoC under the hood. Further, the Infinity phone will come with a premium design that will include an all-metal unibody feature. And the device will finally sport a high-end premium camera.
One thing that is for sure is that this new smartphone will relatively be affordable than the Galaxy S8 or the LG G6. Some have even quoted that the upcoming smartphone will be priced close to Rs. 20,000. That would be very cheap compared to Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 which cost Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 40,000 respectively.
In any case, Micromax has not revealed much information about the upcoming smartphones, but more details should pop up as we move closer to the launch date. Besides, it will be interesting to see how the Canvas Infinity series will turn out for Micromax.
