MIUI 11 Update Rolled Out For Redmi 6, 6A: Here Are The Details
Xiaomi is currently working on its latest proprietary Android skin -- the MIUI 11. The brand has recently completed the rollout of MIUI 11 for the first phase of devices, and now the company has started testing the update for its second batch of devices, including the Redmi 6 and the 6A.
With the update, users will have a new optimized modern UI design on their smartphones. The proprietary skin comes with nifty additions, which is mainly added for the Indian users. And, it also includes October's security patch.
What More We Know
The MIUI 11 rolling out for the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A are sized around 508MB and 517MB, respectively. The update brings several new features which include new minimalistic design, quick replies, new dynamic sound effects, Mi share, floating calculator, updated Mi file manager, steps trackers, and more. The update is currently featured as a beta rollout. After the test is done successfully without any sign of bugs, the users can get the update on their devices.
To recall, both Redmi 6 and the 6A were launched with a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 740 x 1440 pixels and a 3,000 mAh battery. Out of the two, the Redmi 6 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64 ROM. It has a 12MP and a 5MP sensor at the rear, while at the front the handset packs a 5MP lens. It is available at Rs. 7,299 for its given base variant, while its higher variant of 3GB RAM/64GB ROM is priced at Rs. 7,899.
On the other hand, the Redmi 6A makes use of a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB ROM. It sports a 13MP rear sensor and a 5MP selfie snapper. Its price values for the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 2GB RAM/32GB ROM options start from Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 6,999, respectively.
