Motorola seems to have several smartphones in its pipeline for 2018. The company is preparing to launch new smartphones in its G series and it will reportedly include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play. Having said that these smartphone have already been leaked on several occasions in the past few weeks and we have some idea about the devices.
The only thing we don't know as of know is the launch date. While we are keeping a close on this matter, it looks like the Moto G6 series smartphones are now getting much closer to their release.
Interestingly, one of the smartphones in the series has just passed through a certification process. Moto G6 Play bearing the model number XT-1922 has just been certified by Taiwan's certification body NCC.
Previously a Motorola phone with model number Moto XT-1922 was spotted and some reports had said that the device was Moto E5. But now that the smartphone has yet again appeared on the certification database, the information reveals that the handset is actually Moto G6 Play.
The NCC certification, however, doesn't provide much detail or anything about the specifications of the upcoming device. It does not provide an image as well.
Talking about images the upcoming Moto G6 Play has appeared in a leaked render earlier. The alleged renders were also leaked. So we have already seen what the device looks like and what it features under the hood.
Going by the leaked renders courtesy @OnLeaks, the Moto G6 play comes with an attractive new design. It features a glossy back panel with a glass layering on the top. But reports suggest that it could be a polycarbonate material. Moto G6 Play sports a single rear camera with a slight camera bump module and an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the rear below the camera. Motorola seems to be jumping on the full-screen design trend as well and Moto G6 Play has a bigger display with narrow bezels and it should have 18:9 aspect ratio.
As for the specs, the handset is expected to come with a 5.7-inch 1280×720 IPS LCD display, be powered by a Snapdragon 430 which should be paired with either 2GB RAM or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of storage.
In any case, Moto G6 Play will be arriving along with Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus and the devices could most probably be unveiled at the MWC 2018 which is starting February 26.
