Moto G8 Plus Spotted On Geekbench Ahead Of Launch

The Motorola G8 Plus event is all set to debut in Brazil later today at 9:30 AM CT, which is around 8 PM in India. This smartphone has already been circulating in several rumors and speculations for quite some time. Today, at the launch, we will get to know more clarity regarding this new smartphone. In the meantime, the smartphone has been spotted on the Geekbench platform revealing some of its details just before its global announcement.

Moto G8 Plus Geekbench Listing

The upcoming Motorola smartphone's Geekbench listing, which hit the web hours before its unveiling reveals that the smartphone might use a Snapdragon 665 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. The Moto G8 Plus is listed to run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. This makes sense as we cannot expect the device to run the latest iteration of the operating system, Android 10 straight out-of-the-box as it is not a flagship model.

What To Expect From Moto G8 Plus

Based on the existing rumors and leaks, the Moto G8 Plus is believed to bestow a 6.3-inch LCD display with a FHD+ 1080p resolution. It is said to arrive with triple rear cameras with a 48MP primary sensor, a secondary 16MP ultra-wide Action Cam, and a tertiary 5MP depth sensor. Talking about the hardware, the Moto G8 Plus is said to get the power from a Snapdragon 665 SoC.

For selfies, the Motorola smartphone slated to be launched today is likely to use a 25MP sensor. And, it should arrive with common connectivity aspects including dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, wireless LAN, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Keeping the lights turned on with be a 4000mAh battery operating under its hood. Also, there will be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Moto G8 Plus.

Our Take...

The Moto G8 Plus will be positioned as a mid-range smartphone just like its predecessors. It is believed to use similar hardware that we have seen in other mid-range models such as Xiaomi Mi A3 and Realme 5. So, we can expect a tough competition between these models once the Android One device goes official. Furthermore, the Moto G8 Play is also expected to be launched today.
