Moto X4 with 6GB RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo coming to India on February 1

The Moto X4 that went official at the IFA 2017 tech show in Berlin in September was launched in India in November last year. Back then, the smartphone was launched in two variants - one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space priced at Rs. 20,999 and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage priced at Rs. 22,999. Now, it looks like the company is in plans to come up with a new variant of the Moto X4 in the country.

According to a tweet by Motorola India, a new upgraded variant of the Moto X4 is all set to be launched in India. This smartphone is said to be much faster, smarter and sharper. The new variant of Moto X4 is claimed to arrive with 6GB RAM and boot Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. Also, the tweet makes it evident that the launch will happen on February 1.

Given that the new variant of Moto X4 will run Android 8.0 Oreo, it will have features such as Picture-in-Picture mode, Notification Channels, Background Execution Limit, and a new set of emojis among others. In the meantime, the company has already started seeding the Android Oreo update to the existing variants of the smartphone.

Moto X4 is an interesting smartphone from the company. It features a 3D contoured glass design at the front and rear and an anodized aluminum frame as well. The device is also IP68 certified making it resistant to dust and water.

To refresh, the Moto X4 bestows a 5.2-inch LTS IPS display with FHD 1080p resolution and Gorilla Glass protection. Under its hood, there operates a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC. The imaging department comprises of a dual camera setup with 12MP dual pixel sensors with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view for the bokeh effect like the DSLR cameras. At the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and flash as well.

Moto X4 has connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual SIM support, and a USB Type-C port. The battery capacity is 3000mAh and there is support for fast charging as well.
