Moto X4 with 6GB RAM, Android Oreo launched in India at Rs. 24,999

Motorola today announced the all-new variant of its Moto X4 smartphone with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The original Moto X4 was unveiled in September last year at IFA 2017, followed by a launch in India in November. The Moto X4 was already available in two storage variants; one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and another with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

Motorola India has been teasing about this new 6GB variant of Moto X4 from last week. The company took to Twitter to first announce the news of this smartphone. The post read, "We've reconstructed perfection to give you the all new #MotoX4 that just got that much faster, smarter and sharper". The company also confirmed that the 6GB model will be a Flipkart exclusive.

Anyway, let's find out in detail about the new variant of Motorola Moto X4.

Features and Specifications

As stated earlier, the new Moto X4 variant comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB native storage capacity. As for the processor, the handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. It is fitted with a 5.2-inch LTS IPS display with FHD 1080p resolution and Gorilla Glass on top.

In the optics department, the Motorola Moto X4 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup that comprises of a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view for the Bokeh Effect like the DSLR cameras. The cameras also come with features like ‘Selective Focus' and ‘Spot Color'. Interestingly, the software integrated into the cameras can recognize objects and landmarks.

At the front, the smartphone has a 16MP selfie snapper enabled with flash, Face Filters, Panoramic Selfies and Beauty mode.

Another key highlight of the new Moto X4 variant is that it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system right out of the box.

This means, users will be able experience all the Oreo specific features like picture-in-picture mode, auto-fill, notification channels, background execution limit, and a new set of emojis among others.

It also comes with the special Moto key feature that will allow users to access their favorite password-secured websites on their phone or laptop with a simple touch of their finger.

Moto X4 offers connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual SIM support, and a USB Type-C port. The battery capacity is of 3,000mAh and there is support for fast charging as well.

Pricing and Availability

The 6GB variant of Moto X4 is priced at Rs. 24,999. Offered in Super Black and Sterling Blue color options, the smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart and Moto Hubs across India.

Launch offers

There are some launch offers on Flipkart that will be valid on 1st and 2nd Feb 2018. As such, ICICI Bank credit card holders will get a flat discount of Rs. 1,500 on the purchase of Moto X4 (6GB). Customers can get additional Rs. 3,000 off on exchange of their old smartphones.

Vodafone subscribers will are entitled to get up to 490GB data free by recharging with Rs. 199. Lastly, there are No Cost EMI options available up to 12 months starting from Rs. 2,083. It should be kept in mind that all these offers come with terms and conditions.
