Moto Z2 Force with shatterpoof display launched at Rs. 34,999; sale debuts tonight

Moto Z2 Force is touted to be a unique kind of flagship smartphone with the ShatterShield technology.

    Motorola announced the Moto Z2 Force smartphone back in July 2017. Now, the device has been launched in India along with the TurboPower Pack Moto Mod. The second-generation Moto Z2 Force comes with the ShatterShield technology that offers the same level of durability that its predecessor features and will have a shatterproof display.

    Moto Z2 Force is priced at Rs. 34,999 that makes it one of the affordable flagships in the country. The smartphone will be exclusive to Flipkart. This flagship smartphone is pretty unique in the premium market segment. There are other features such as Moto Voice, quick notifications, and many other impressive features.

    Having said that, let's take a look at the Moto Z2 specifications and features from below.


    Moto Z2 Force comes with an all-metal build and slim profile. The smartphone features a 7000 series aluminum build that makes it highly durable. This is the strongest and most durable material used to craft phones till date. The device has a brushed metal rear panel instead of the glass back that was seen on the original Moto Z Force. At the rear bottom, the connector to snap on the Moto Mod accessories is also seen. There is a redesigned fingerprint sensor or home key and dual camera setup confined in a circular enclosure along with LED flash.


    In terms of specifications, the Moto Z2 Force flaunts a 5.5-inch 2K POLED display with the ShatterShield technology that makes it shatterproof. Under its hood, there is a high-end octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC as it is a flagship smartphone. This device will have 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space expandable further using a microSD card.

    The device will be launched with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. There are standard connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth and a USB Type-C port. The battery capacity is 2730 and it is touted to render a decent backup on moderate usage. The turbopower charging feature will render 8 hours of charge on charging for just 15 minutes.


    Moto Z2 Force flaunts a 12MP dual cameras at its rear - one being a RGB sensor and the other being a monochrome sensors. These are Sony IMX386 sensors and have an aperture of f/2.0, PDAF, laser autofocus, depth detection and zero shutter lag. The selfie camera is a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an 85-degree wide-angle lens, selfie flash and Pro mode. The rear camera is getting smarter with features such as Object and Image Recognition and Smart Camera with the ability to scan barcodes, QR codes and visiting cards. These features are right now under beta.

    TurboPower Moto Mod

    The Moto Z2 Force supports the Moto Mods accessories with the connector at its rear. While there are many interesting Moto Mods in the market, all the Moto Z2 Force units sold in India will be bundled with the TurboPower Moto Mod that is priced at Rs. 5,999 for free. This accessory has an impressive 6220mAh battery that will assure a long-lasting battery life when the smartphone is required to handle intense tasks.

    Price and Availability

    Priced at Rs. 34,999, the Moto Z2 Force has been launched in the Super Black color variant. The smartphone will go on sale starting tonight at 11:59 pm exclusively via Flipkart. The device can be experienced at the Moto Hubs retail stores across the country.
