Motorola Announces Mid-Range Smartphone with a Stylus: Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) Launched

Motorola has officially announced a new affordable smartphone with stylus support, which is something reserved for foldables and the Galaxy Ultra models.

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) has been doing the rounds in the rumor mill since January, although it recently became official in North America. It does get a few upgrades over its predecessor, primarily in the design and functionality departments.

Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) Specifications

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that is expandable via a microSD card. The phone also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless fast charging support.

Motorola's new mid-range smartphone sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ P-OLED display with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The phone also packs dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

For optics, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) features a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture and a 13 MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree FOV. Moreover, there's a 32 MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) runs Android 14 out of the box.

Improve Stylus Features

Motola has improved the stylus on its latest Moto G Stylus smartphone. The stylus has a new design with a larger contract area and supports optical character recognition (OCR), allowing you to extract text from a written or printed document and digitize it to edit and use it later.

Motorola has also improved the software and reduced the latency on the stylus. Additionally, there's a new user interface to access the stylus' features and certain apps can also be programmed to open once you take out the stylus.

Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) Pricing and Availability

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) price is set at $399.99 (roughly Rs 33,400) in the US for the sole 8GB/256GB model. Moreover, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) price in India will be set at CAD 499.99 (roughly Rs 41,750).

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) will be available for purchase from May 30. Additionally, the handset is offered in Caramel Latte and Scarlet Wave color options. As of now, there is no word on global availability, although an India launch doesn't seem to be in the cards.
