Motorola Edge 40 launched in India with MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, 144Hz OLED Display, IP68 Rating
Motorola has officially unveiled a new smartphone in its Edge series in India. The Motorola Edge 40 arrives in India's high-competitive sub-30K segment as the smartphone with the world's first MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset.
Apart from the chipset, the Moto Edge 40 opts for a curved OLED display with a high refresh rate, a dual-camera setup with optical image stabilization, super-fast charging, a near-stock Android experience, and an IP rating. Here's everything you need to know about the Motorola Edge 40.

Moto Edge 40 Price in India
The Motorola Edge 40 price in India is set at Rs 29,999 for the sole 8GB/256GB variant. Customers can pre-order the Motorola Edge 40 in India starting today. The Moto Edge 40 will go on sale in India for the first time from May 30.
Customer can buy the Edge 40 from Flipkart, Motorola.in, and leading retail stores across the country. Motorola is also offering an exchange bonus of Rs 2,000 as well as No Cost EMI payment options starting from Rs 5,000 per month on the purchase of the Edge 40.
Motorola Edge 40 Specifications
The Motorola Edge 40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset also packs a 4,400 mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. It is also the first phone in the segment to support 15W wireless charging.
Another segment first for the Motorola Edge 40 is its 6.55-inch FHD+ 3D curved pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel boasts a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, 100% DCI-P3 colours, HDR10+ support, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Moto Edge 40 also packs stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
For optics, the Motorola Edge 40 gets a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor that supports OIS and a wide f/1.4 aperture. The phone also has a 13 MP ultrawide lens with doubles as a macro shooter. Up front, the Edge 40 opts for a 32 MP selfie camera. The Edge 40 runs on Android 13 with Motorola's MyUX skin on top.
Motorola Edge 40 Design
The Motorola Edge 40 comes in three shades - Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, and Lunar Blue. The Nebula Green and Eclipse Black models have a vegan leather finish while an acrylic glass finish is found on the Lunar Blue colourway.
The Moto Edge 40 also boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone supports 14 5G bands and offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. The Edge 40 also features ThinkShield for Mobile that offers business grade security.
