Motorola Edge 40 launched with MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, 144Hz OLED Display, IP68 Rating
Motorola has officially unveiled a new Edge series smartphone. The Motorola Edge 40 arrives as an upper mid-range smartphone and comes following the recent launch of the Motorola Edge Plus (2023), which was a modified version of the Moto Edge 40 Pro for the US market.
The Motorola Edge 40 was only just unveiled in Europe and is yet to be released in India. The Motorola Edge 40 features a MediaTek chipset, an IP rating, a super-smooth display, stereo speakers, super-fast charging, and a dual-camera setup on the back.

Motorola Edge 40 Pricing
The Motorola Edge 40 price is set at €599.99 (roughly Rs 54,300) in Germany for the sole 8GB/256GB model. It is worth noting that pricing of the Motorola Edge 40 can vary across Europe, depending on the region.
As of now, there is no information about the Motorola Edge 40 launch in India, although we can expect more information soon. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro price in Europe is set at €899.99 (roughly Rs 81,450).
Motorola Edge 40 Specifications
The Motorola Edge 40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 13 with Motorola's near-stock Android My UX skin on top. It packs a 4,400 mAh battery with 68W fast charging support.
The Moto Edge 40 sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 402ppi. The handset sports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen supports HDR10+ and boasts a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Additionally, the camera cut-out houses a 32 MP selfie camera with autofocus.
On the back, the Motorola Edge 40 opts for a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, a 1/1.5-inch sensor size, and OIS support. The main camera is paired with a 13 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and "Macro Vision", allowing it to double as a macro camera.
Motorola Edge 40 Design
The Moto Edge 40 is offered in Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, and Lunar Blue colour options. The Nebula Green, and Eclipse Black colours features a vegan leather back, while the Lunar Blue model has an acrylic back.
Moreover, the acrylic plastic blue model weighs lighter at 167 grams as compared to the vegan leather options (171 grams). However, all three Motorola Edge 40 models come with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
