Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Confirmed to Use Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC Ahead of April 16 Launch

Motorola is hosting an event on April 16 for the global launch of the Edge 50 series. The line-up is expected to include the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Ultra.

To recall, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro was unveiled in India last week. However, official information has surfaced about the specifications of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, the top-end smartphone in the line-up.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: What we know so far!

According to an official post by X (formerly Twitter), a smartphone in the line-up will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Since the Motorola Edge 50 Pro uses the mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, the phone in question will likely be the top-end Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 series chip recently showed up on Geekbench. The listing revealed the phone managed an impressive single-core score of 1,947 points and a multi-core score of 5,149 points.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: What to Expect?

The Geekbench listing also revealed that the Motorola smartphone would come with at least 12GB of RAM. Moreover, it will run Android 14 out of the box with the Hello UI custom skin. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is also expected to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro Ultra is also expected to feature a 50 MP triple-camera setup with the combination of main, ultrawide, and periscope sensors. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is also expected to get an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and a vegan leather back panel.
