Motorola Edge 70 Max Launched With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 7,100mAh Battery: Check Price, Specs
Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Max in India, marking the fifth phone in its Edge 70 lineup. The phone brings flagship-level hardware to the segment, headlined by a massive 7,100mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, and magnetic wireless charging, a first for this price bracket.

Price And Availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Max comes in two variants. The 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs 54,999, while the 12GB + 256GB model comes in at Rs 59,999. Motorola is also offering an instant bank discount of Rs 5,000 on select credit cards, bringing the effective starting price down to Rs 49,999. The phone is available in three Pantone shades, Aqua Gray, Dark Shadow, and Ice Melt, and goes on sale starting July 20 through Flipkart and Motorola's own online store.
Display
The phone sports a 6.8-inch QHD+ Extreme AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 7,000 nits, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. Motorola has also packed in a 510 ppi pixel density, full DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and support for over a billion colours. The screen-to-body ratio comes in at 96.8 percent, and the panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. There's also a feature called Water Touch, meant to improve touch response when your fingers are wet or damp.
Performance
Powering the Edge 70 Max is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. It uses six efficiency cores clocked at 3.3GHz alongside two performance cores that peak at 3.8GHz. This is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage across both variants. To manage heat during heavy use, Motorola has added a vapour chamber cooling system with a 5,500 sq mm heat dissipation area. The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, so it should hold up against dust, splashes, and even high-pressure water jets.
Camera
On the camera side, the Edge 70 Max sticks to a dual rear setup instead of going with three lenses. The primary shooter is a 50-megapixel sensor using Sony's LYT-710 chip, with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Alongside it is an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 119-degree field of view and autofocus, plus a 2-in-1 light sensor. Up front, there's a 32-megapixel selfie camera. All cameras on the phone support video recording up to 4K at 60fps.
Battery And Charging
The 7,100mAh battery is the standout spec here, with Motorola claiming it can last up to 58 hours on a single charge. Wired charging tops out at 90W, while wireless charging goes up to 25W and includes magnetic support, similar to how MagSafe accessories work on iPhones. The phone also supports 5W reverse wired charging, letting you top up other devices in a pinch.
Software And Connectivity
The Edge 70 Max runs Android 16 with Motorola's Hello UI on top, and the company is promising three years of OS upgrades along with five years of security updates. On connectivity, the phone covers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6, along with support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, NavIC, BeiDou, and QZSS for navigation. It's a dual SIM device with an in-display fingerprint sensor, along with the usual set of sensors including an accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
Design And Build
In terms of size, the phone measures 164 x 77 x 8.29mm and weighs around 221g. It sticks to a glass and aluminium build, backed by military-grade MIL-STD 810H durability certification.
