Motorola Is Teasing the World’s Slimmest Phone With Military-Grade Toughness – Is It the Moto Edge 50 Neo?
Motorola is stirring the pot in India with teasers for an upcoming smartphone that they claim will be the world's slimmest phone with MIL-STD-810 certification for durability. This means it will be the thinnest phone to survive a gauntlet of environmental tests, including drops, vibrations, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
Durable and Thin?
The company hasn't revealed the phone's name yet, but leaks suggest it could be the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, the successor to the Edge 40 Neo (review) launched last year. This phone is rumored to be just 8.1mm thin, which could potentially make it the slimmest phone with military-grade ruggedness if it launches before the OPPO K12x.

The K12x, launching July 29th in India, boasts a similar MIL-STD-810H certification but with an even slimmer 7.68mm profile. However, the K12x settles for a lower IP54 water resistance rating compared to the rumored IP68 rating of the Motorola phone.
Possible Specs of the Mystery Motorola
Leaks suggest the Motorola phone could pack a punch under the hood with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, offered in either 8GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB configurations. The display is rumored to be a 6.5-inch 120Hz pOLED panel with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
In terms of cameras, it might sport a triple rear setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto sensor. A 32MP selfie camera and a 4,310mAh battery round out the rumored specs. Color options could include Nautical Blue, Latte, Grisaille, and Poinciana.
Launch and Availability
Motorola has yet to reveal the official launch date for the phone, but teasers suggest it's coming soon and will be available through Flipkart in India. With the OPPO K12x launching later this month, the race for the title of "slimmest rugged phone" is heating up. We'll have to wait and see which phone crosses the finish line first.
