Motorola Moto E5, E5 Plus get FCC approval; likely to feature 4,000mAh battery
The Moto E5 could launch in April this year with the price tag of about Rs. 7,000.
Two Motorola smartphones have been spotted on FCC certification site. Carrying the model numbers XT1922-4 and XT1922-5, they are rumored to be the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus. The smartphones have appeared in leaked earlier as well, but the FCC approval means they will be launched soon. Unfortunately though, the FCC document has not revealed much about the devices expect one piece of information.
According to the FCC document, the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus may pack a large 4,000mAh battery. If this information turns out to be legit, in the battery department, the Moto E5 would be a huge upgrade over its predecessor Moto E4 which is backed up by a rather small 2,800mAh battery. Despite coming with a 4,000mAh battery, the Moto E5 will be a budget smartphone from Motorola.
A leaked image of the alleged Moto E5 in Gold color recently emerged online, revealing its design aspect. As per the image, the upcoming smartphone will have striking resemblances with its predecessor in terms of design. That being said, the Moto E5 will have one notable difference with last year's Moto E4.
Detailing the design aspect, the Moto E5 has a circular camera module at its rear. The camera setup houses the main camera sensor and the LED flash stacked vertically. The rear camera module is also slightly protruded. Such an arrangement of the rear camera placed in a circular housing is something we have seen on previous Motorola smartphones as well. The front camera, however, will not be accompanied by a flash.
As stated earlier, the Moto E5 will have a major change in design. Unlike its predecessor, the smartphone is believed to a feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There appears to be a dimple at the phone's back with a Motorola logo. Presumably, it will function as the fingerprint scanner.
As far as the specifications go, the Motorola Moto E5 is rumored to feature a 5-inch display with the aspect ratio of 16:9. There is no information on the display type and size. Just like its predecessors, the smartphone is likely to be powered by a MediaTek processor as well. The Moto E5 could launch in April this year with the price tag of about Rs. 7,000.
