Motorola Moto E5 spotted on official website ahead of launch

Motorola didn't launch any devices at MWC 2018, unlike last year. However, the company is believed to be working on the next generation of smartphones from the Moto G, Moto E and Moto Z series. The rumor mill has been quite active with all the upcoming Moto smartphones, and new leaks emerge every now and then.

Motorola is expected to launch Moto E5 series sometime in next month. As per recent reports, the Moto E5 lineup will include the Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus, and Moto E5 Play. Yes, the Play variant is making a comeback this year. The Moto E5 Play has now been spotted on Motorola's official website in the US. 91Mobiles found this by searching Moto E5 in the Search tab.

Apparently, the result showed a document with the title 'Moto Actions - Moto e5 play'. This means, the smartphone will come with the 'Moto Actions' feature. For those who are not aware, this feature allows users to perform various tasks simply with the help of gestures.

Moto E5 Play had previously been leaked a couple of times. According to Andri Yatim, the smartphone will arrive with a 5.2-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio and HD 720p resolution. In terms of optics, the smartphone is likely to sport a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. The key highlight of the Moto E5 is said to be a large 4,000mAh battery.

This smartphone is also believed to feature a fingerprint sensor at its rear panel, embedded under the Moto logo. It is said to be launched with a selfie flash too.

In February, Evan Blass had also shared an alleged render of the Moto E5. However, he didn't shed any light on the specifications of the smartphone. As for pricing, the smartphone is speculated to cost within $150 (roughly Rs. 9,500).

Do note that until now, Motorola has announced the Play variant only for the G series smartphones. This is the first time that we are expecting the Play variant in the E series.
