Motorola Moto G5S and G5S Plus announced in India: Features, specs, price and availability
Lenovo-owned Motorola has just launched two new special edition smartphones the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus in India on August 29.
The smartphones are now continuing the Moto G legacy but this time the new phones as the company said comes with better design, stronger build, enhanced cameras, better sound, faster processing speed, longer battery life, and deliver the near stock Android experience.
"The Moto G5S and G5S Plus has been designed to offer special experiences that users can get in a device," the company said during the launch event.
Further, Moto G5S and G5S Plus will be exclusive to Amazon and the devices will be available for purchase starting tonight at 11:59 PM on the e-commerce site. Moto G5S and G5S Plus are priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 15,999 respectively. The company has said that the device will also be available across Motorola retail partner outlets and mobile stores across the country as well.
That being said, let's now look at what the new smartphones bring to the table.
Moto G5S
Motorola Moto G5S comes with a 5.2-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density) and Corning gorilla glass on top.
The Motorola Moto G5S is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor which is paired with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G5S packs a 16-megapixel PDAF primary camera on the rear and at the front, there is a 5-megapixel front shooter along with a flash.
The Motorola Moto G5S runs Android 7.1.1 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. The smartphone also comes with a 15 Watt Turbocharger.
The Motorola Moto G5S is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Headphones, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
Moto G5S Plus
Moto G5S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density). The smartphone is powered by a 2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
The device features 4GB of RAM and offers 32GB of internal storage. The handset supports expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card.
The major highlight of the Moto G5S Plus is its camera. The smartphone arrives with a dual camera setup and the device is equipped with two 13MP sensors- a monochrome and RGB one. The cameras also come with a 3D depth sensor. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens and LED flash as well. The handset comes with different camera modes like Panoramic selfie, pro mode, beauty mode and more.
The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery which will be supported by the TurboPower feature that is capable of providing 6 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging. The handset also comes with 15 Watt Turbocharger.
The smartphone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. Further, the smartphone offers various experiences like Moto Display and Moto Action.
Moto G5S Plus will also come bundled with connectivity options like 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. There will be a front-facing oval-shaped fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
Notably, Moto G5S Plus will come in Lunar Gray and Blush Gold color options.
Launch Offers
Motorola is also offering some launch offers with the Moto G5S and G5S Plus to attract early buyers. The company has announced that interested customers will get an extra Rs. 1,000 on exchanging their old Moto phone.
Moto fans can buy the Moto Sports headphones for just Rs 599 (it originally retailed for Rs 1599). There is 80 percent off on e-books (up to Rs 300) on the Amazon Kindle app and No Cost EMI on all credit cards. Jio users will also get 50GB of additional 4G data.
