Motorola Moto G6 lineup was initially speculated launch sometime in April. A new leak, however, suggests otherwise. The Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play might not get released before May. First spotted by Android Police, the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play were listed on the website of US-based electronics retailer Fry.
The website has since removed the listings, but folks at Android Police managed to take screenshots and download the images of the smartphones. As stated, the listing reveals that Motorola will start shipping the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play in mid-May. Notably, there is no mention of the Moto G6 Plus on the retail platform. But, recent reports have suggested that Moto G6 Plus will also launch alongside the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play.
According to the listings on Fry, the Motorola Moto G6 will come with a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with the screen resolution of 1,080×2,160 pixels, resulting in an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under its hood, the phone will be powered by an octa-core processor running at a clock speed of 1.8GHz. The name of the chipset is not specified, but it is likely to be the Snapdragon 450 SoC.
The Moto G6 will come in two variants; one with 32GB pf inbuilt storage, and another with 64GB of inbuilt storage. The storage space is further expandable up to 128GB using the microSD card onboard. There's no information on the phone's RAM configuration.
In terms of optics, the smartphone will sport a dual camera setup at the back. For front camera, there will be an 8MP sensor with wide-angle lens. Other listed features include a virtual assistant called Moto Voice, a 3,000mAh battery and facial recognition technology.
As for pricing and availability, the Moto G6 will be released on May 10 at $249.99 (approx. Rs. 16,200).
Moto G6 Play
The Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, is listed with the same 5.7-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It will make use of a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone will offer 32GB native storage; expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The Moto G6 Play will have a single 13MP "rapid-focus" rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. The USP of the smartphone will be its large 4,000mAh battery.
The Moto G6 Play will reportedly carry a price tag of $199.99 and will start shipping from May 17 onwards.
